Donald Trump, never one to shy away from controversy, is setting the stage for a dramatic return to the White House. Amid the chaos, he's unveiled an ambitious plan to tackle the staggering $35 trillion U.S. debt - and itโs not what anyone expected.
This year, Trump has made waves by embracing #bitcoin, openly opposing the U.S. government's crackdown on cryptocurrency, and condemning Operation Choke Point 2.0.
As concerns grow about the potential collapse of the U.S. dollar, Trump is calling for a financial "revolution" led by his sons, Eric and Don Jr.
"For too long, big banks and financial elites have squeezed the life out of the average American. Itโs time to take a stand - together," Trump declared on his Truth Social account, directing followers to a Telegram group run by his sons called โThe DeFiant Ones,โ referencing decentralized finance (DeFi).
In a recent update, the group was renamed "World Liberty Financial" (WLFI), fueling speculation about the possible launch of a Trump #cryptocurrency.
Scammers quickly jumped on the hype, launching fake tokens under the WLFI name, forcing Trump Jr. and Eric to warn followers against fraud.
"Stay vigilant and protect your investments!" the official Telegram channel urged, emphasizing that all legitimate updates would come directly from them.
The Trumps' push for decentralized finance comes at a time when traditional banking is under fire.
Trump Jr. railed against how "crooked banks and financial institutions rig the system against everyday Americans." His frustrations echo earlier statements by Eric Trump, who lamented that โover half this country right now cannot be banked.โ
The Trump family's stance reflects a broader concern over politicized banking, like the freezing of accounts during Canadaโs trucking protests and Nigel Farageโs banking debacle in the U.K.
"These banks want absolute control, but that ends now," declared Don Jr.
The new platform promises to eliminate the corrupt, expensive middlemen, offering financial freedom to the masses.
"Weโre here to make finance great again - by putting power back in your hands," the Trump brothers proclaimed.
While details on the project are scarce, one thing is clear: the Trump family is ready to reshape the financial landscape.
Whether this is just another headline or the start of a new financial era remains to be seen.
Either way, Trump is betting big on a future where finance is no longer controlled by a privileged few.
